FAQ

For the “I love it… but what if?” club
  • If you follow our cm sizing guide and actually measure your foot (yes, properly 😌), you can be confident it will fit.

We base everything on real centimetres — not guessing, not vague conversions.

And if somehow it’s not right?

If the shoes don’t match the centimetre measurement you followed from our guide, we’ll cover the exchange.

We may just ask for a quick photo of your original foot measurement (heel to longest toe next to a ruler) — simply so we’re being honest and fair with each other from the start.

But honestly? Measure properly once, and you truly won’t need it.

  • Yes. Confidently yes.

Our chunky sole is our signature — and it took us a long time to find one that’s:

    • stylish

    • lightweight

    • and naturally wider than what you usually find in stores

From our wide-foot girliers already wearing Mozaïka — the feedback has been clear:

    “They finally don’t squeeze.”

So if you’ve been scared of narrow, cramped shoes… you’re safe here.

  • Both. Always both.

Lightweight EVA sole. Cushioned insole. Proper arch support. Spacious toe box.

They’re designed to look bold and feel like you could walk all day in them.

    Because cute shoes shouldn’t hurt.

  • You don’t need to be bold.

The shoes do the talking for you.

And honestly? Life is too short to dress for someone else’s comfort.

Most women don’t regret wearing personality.

    They regret playing small.

  • Because we work with small leather pieces — especially rare pony hair and deadstock materials.

When a colour runs out, it’s gone.

    Sometimes that’s 10 pairs.

    Sometimes 1.

We don’t mass produce. We don’t repeat endlessly.

So if you love a pair… don’t overthink it into extinction.

  • Each pair is handmade to order by our small workshop.

Usually around 1–4 weeks depending on leather and sole availability.

We send tracking the moment they’re ready.

And yes — we’re just as excited as you are.

  • If we haven’t started making them yet — no problem.

Once production begins, we can’t stop halfway (because it’s made specifically for you).

    But here’s the truth:

We’ve had far more “I’m obsessed” messages than regrets.

  • Nope.

    It’s me. Sofia.

Designing. Photographing. Packing. Answering your DMs.

    Mum life included.

And a tiny workshop of real hands making each pair.

Say "Hi" on our DMs, I usually reply in minutes)

  • They might.

Or they might compliment you all day.

Either way — you finally wore what you actually liked.

    That’s the win.

  • No.

If it’s gone, it’s gone for good.

We work with limited leather pieces — especially pony hair and deadstock materials. Once we use up that batch, we can’t repeat it.

    Sometimes that means 15 pairs.

    Sometimes 5.

    Sometimes 1.

If you love something from this batch… get it before it disappears.

There will always be new limited drops.

    But not this exact one.

  • Because they’re not made by machines pumping out thousands.

    They’re made slowly.

    With real leather.

    With intention.

    With people paid fairly.

They’re built to last — not fall apart after a season.

Cost per wear > impulse regret.

The Making of Mozaïka

Mozaïka shoes are designed in Melbourne and handmade by our small manufacturing team in Ukraine.

We proudly work with an independent, family-run workshop that shares our values of craftsmanship, sustainability, and slow fashion. Every pair is carefully made using high-quality, responsibly sourced leather, with a focus on durability, comfort, and creativity.

Here are a few things we think you’ll love knowing about our workshop:

Location: Kyiv region, Ukraine

Production volume: Up to 10–15 pairs per day

Team size: Fewer than 10 makers

Working hours: 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday

Why it matters: Choosing to produce small batches means less waste, better quality, and a truly one-of-a-kind result for you.

Every shoe is touched by real hands, not machines — and every detail matters to us.

Our founder, Sofia, was born in Ukraine and fell in love with the art of shoemaking while studying traditional techniques at a local craftsmanship school. After moving to Australia, she dreamt of building a brand that would share the story of Ukrainian artisanship with the world.

She believes Ukraine holds some of the finest leather craftsmanship in the world — yet it’s often overlooked.

Mozaïka is her way of celebrating that heritage and supporting the makers behind each pair.

This isn’t just another faceless brand. We’re a small, passionate team that genuinely cares — about our raft, our people, and the shoes we send out into the world.

Our Approach to Sustainability

Not greenwashed.

Not “perfect.”

Just thoughtful.

We know 100% biodegradable shoes aren’t realistic today.

And we won’t pretend they are.

Instead of using PU “vegan” plastics that sit in landfill for decades,

we choose real leather and build shoes meant to last.

Longevity is sustainability.

Most of our designs are made from premium deadstock leather

high-quality leftover pieces big brands don’t use because they can’t mass-produce hundreds of identical pairs from them.

We give those materials a second life.

That means smaller batches.

No mass repeats.

Sometimes only 5–10 pairs in that exact leather.

You won’t blend into the masses.

And good materials won’t go to waste.

We make to order.

No overproduction.

No piles of unsold stock.

Your pair begins when you choose it.

We design for repair, not disposal.

Scuff them? Wear them often?

Visit a cobbler. Care for them. Keep them for years.

The longer you wear them, the lighter the footprint.

Even our packaging matters.

Our cards and tags are made from 99% recycled paper with embedded seeds.

Tear them. Plant them. Water them.

Watch flowers grow.

We’re not perfect.

But we are committed to making better choices — step by step.

Because sustainability isn’t just how we produce.

It’s how you choose to wear.
